Josefina P. Covarrubiaz, 94 of Midland, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022. Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Joseph Costilla officiating.
Josefina was born on September 26, 1927 in Ruidoso, Texas. Raised in Marfa, Texas by her adopted parents Martin and Begnina Madrid. She was married to the late Ricardo B. Covarrubiaz for 59 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Begnina Madrid; her husband, Ricardo B. Covarrubiaz; son, Jose Alfredo Covarrubiaz; son, Desiderio P. Covarrubiaz and daughter Irene Ornelas.
Josefina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Known to all as “Grandma Josie” she acquired many more people in her life.
On August 5, 1966 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a faithful and loyal servant to her God Jehovah. Encouraging everyone she could reach to read the Bible and come to learn about her God Jehovah.
She is survived by her children, Amy (Augustine) Garces, Jr. ; Carlos (Vickie) Covarrubiaz of Flagstaff, Arizona; Sylvia Gutierrez of Midland; Hector (Mirella) Covarrubiaz of Midland; Rose (Frank) Urias of Fort Stockton; Steve Ornelas of Midland; Irma Molinar of Midland; Mario Covarrubiaz of Midland; Patsy (Abel) Ochoa of Midland; Lilia (Noel) Rodriguez of Midland and all her precious grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
