Jose \Pepe\ Castillo, 85, of Midland, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017.He was a member of San Juan Catholic Church in Midland. Jose was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Democratic Party. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He believed in fighting for his country and the ideals it stands for, \Equality for all.\ Sacrifice, commitment and unconditional love towards his family were characteristics he demonstrated in his life. Pepe was not one to talk much about religion, but he definitely walked the walk of Christianity. There are so many beautiful memories he left us and we will miss him until Jesus calls us home too.Survivors include his wife, Dora Castillo; one son, Joe Castillo, Jr. and wife, Kathy; four daughters, Rosa Sotelo and husband, Pete, Carol Subia and husband, Rudy, Tina De La Rosa and husband, Marcos all Midland, and Janie Valdez of Waco; one brother, Jesus Castillo of Midland; five sisters, Mary Carrasco of Lockhart, Juanita Galindo, Emalia Navarrete, Maria Elena Ochoa and Rosa Enriquez all of Midland; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Maria Marquez Castillo; an infant daughter, Maria Castillo; one brother, Florencio (Roy) Castillo; and one sister, Socorro Ruiz.Viewing will be from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring. Vigil/Rosary services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Mt Olive Memorial Park Big Spring.The family wishes to thank the staff at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home for the care given our husband and father.
