Jorunn “Joy” Marie Freeman, 83, of Midland, passed away June 2, 2017.Jorunn was born on May 5, 1934 in Tromsø, Norway to Kristian Arnt and Haldis Jensen. She loved to cook and enjoyed time with family and friends. She gained her US Citizenship in 1959.Joy is survived by her daughters, Terry Carter, Gwen \Snook\ Cox, and Stephanie \Effie\ Reed; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; older brother, Kurt and wife, Olaug Jensen, and younger brother, Bjorn-Erik and wife, Elsa Jensen. She has numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.Joy is preceded in death by her father, Kristian Arnt Jensen; mother, Haldis Jensen; and son, Kristian Lewis Dean.The family would like to express their gratitude towards Hospice of Midland and the staff at Senior Care.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Midland.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
