Jordan was born on May 20, 1999 in Odessa, Texas to Dusty and Rachelle Taylor. Jordan was raised in Midland where he participated in several extracurricular activities including Band, Choir, FFA and Powerlifting. One of his favorite childhood memories was how he and his brother and sister would run around like “hooligans” at the county stock show until they heard “the whistle.” Then you saw three little heads pop up and come running back to where they needed to be. Jordan was raised surrounded by animals and developed a love for all four legged creatures. Wherever he was, an animal was close behind or in his lap. While he loved all of the things he was a part of, the one that had his heart was football. He began playing in the 3rd grade and continued until he graduated from Midland High School in 2017. He was blessed with many coaches and teammates who made lasting impressions on him who he spoke of regularly. After high school, Jordan served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic before returning to Midland. Shortly after his return, he moved to Andrews and married Adriana Carranza and added to their family with a son, Grayson. He earned his CDL and went to work doing something he had always wanted to do; drive big trucks. Jordan was never one for sitting still for very long, so in his free time, you could often find him outside working on anything with a small engine. He enjoyed the challenge of being able to make it run again. His little buddy, Grayson, was almost always outside with him. One of Jordan’s favorite places to go was the ranch. He loved to hunt but also enjoyed the peacefulness it offered just being out in nature. Jordan had an infectious smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He always had a big heart and the willingness to help, but recently, he had rediscovered the joy that comes in helping others and wanted to do more.
Jordan is survived by his wife Adriana and son Grayson, parents, Dusty and Rachelle Taylor, younger brother and sister, Wyatt Taylor and Cassidy Taylor, his “Papaw,” Jackie Taylor, his “Grandma,” Shirley Rodriguez and her husband Santos Rodriguez; Mother and Father in-law Maria Guadalupe and Hermeregildo Carranza, sister-in-law Cristal Carranza and her husband Christofer Carrasco, niece Baylynn and nephew Thomas of Andrews, Tx, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members and friends who love him dearly.
Jordan is preceded in death by his “Papa,” Ronnie Skiles, “Nana,” Joyce Taylor, “Mamaw,” Wanda Phillips, “Great-Grandma,” Betty Walker and Aunt, Elizabeth Taylor.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the Medical Center Hospital ICU staff and Southwest Transplant Alliance for helping make Jordan’s wish of donation become a reality.
