Jonathon Louis Frantz was born June 1, 1979 in Manistee, Michigan. He passed away in November of 2022 after a short but rough battle with cancer. His oldest brother Michael Frantz preceded him in death the year prior and his family knows that Michael was there to hug him as soon as he walked through the gates of heaven.
John loved to build, create and take care of his parents. At any age he always had multiple projects that he was working on whether it was woodworking or computers. He used great detail and precision in each project he started. In High School, he took classes in wood and metal working. He made many items that his parents still proudly display in their home.
After graduating high school, he moved to Phoenix to complete his education in computer technology. He used this knowledge to work as a programmer and a webmaster. He also helped not only his parents but also volunteered to do computer work at his mother’s church and anyone else who needed help.
He moved back to Midland to be closer to family and to help care for his parents. He was the one who ran errands, got groceries and helped his parents with so many daily tasks. He was the youngest of 4 siblings and his sister’s best friend while growing up. They were always playing together. Whether it was whiffle ball, building snow forts or playing in the sandbox that our Papa made us, he was always a good sport when we all played together.
We find comfort that he is no longer suffering and he was welcomed in heaven by his grandparents Fred and Jackie Frantz, Ray and Ginny Collins and his oldest brother Michael Frantz. He leaves behind his parents: Fred and Linda Frantz; his siblings: brother and sister in law-Dwayne and Tanya Frantz, sister and brother in law-Cynthia and Chris Gomez-Brooks; his nieces and nephews: niece and nephew in law-Brittany and CJ Braun, niece-Ashlynn Brooks, nephew-Brayden Brooks, niece-Caelynn Brooks, great nephew-Tripp Braun, great niece-Eleanor. He was also loved by his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His family would also like to thank so many who stepped forward and helped to get John the care he needed. We thank each nurse, doctor and office/oncology/hospital staff that helped during his sickness. Kindness was shown by so many of you and we cannot ever thank you enough.
There will not be a formal service, however if you wish to honor him please make a contribution to American Cancer Society or Midland Allison Cancer Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
