Johnny Wayne Barnes, 74, formerly of Midland, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Gatesville. Graveside Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton, Texas.He was born May 27, 1944 in Rotan, Texas to Amos T. and Mary Moss Barnes. Johnny attended school in McCauley and Stanton. He worked for Borden’s Milk Company for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing dominoes, and loved being a father and grandfather.Survivors include one son, Mark Barnes and wife, Heather of Gatesville; one daughter, Monica Dorcz and husband, Michael of Huffman; eight grandchildren, Justin Barnes, Morgan Barnes, Matthew Dorcz, Alana Dorcz, Eric Ralph, Paityn Barnes, Delaney Barnes and Kaden Barnes; two brothers, Stanley Barnes of Stanton and Donal Barnes and wife, Gail of Odessa; one sister-in-law, Jody Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vila Lee Boggs; two brothers, an infant brother, Tillman George Barnes and Richard Barnes; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Barnes.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, Texas.
