Johnny Ray Payne, Sr., 45, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, January 18, 2004, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with John Doll, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.He was born on January 22, 1958, in Big Spring.Johnny was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and had worked in the oilfield and also as a plumber. He had served in the United States Marine Corps.Survivors include four sons, Jason Ray Payne, Johnny Ray Payne, Jr., Boe Lewis Payne, and Bryan Patrick Payne, all of Big Spring; two daughters, Samantha Marie Payne and Donna Carol Payne both of Big Spring; one sister, Kimberly Jo Kinnemer of Big Spring; seven brothers, Jack Houston Payne, Jr., of Petal, Mississippi, Roy Lee Payne, Thomas Rowland Payne, and Dean Allen Payne all of Big Spring, Larry Dale Payne of San Angelo, Michael Al Payne, of Lubbock, and Bobby Doyle Payne of Woodbridge, Virginia; and ten grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Houston and Patsy Payne, and two sisters Donna Sue Lynch and Tammy Lynn Gray.
