Johnny G. JonesJohnny G. Jones, 80, passed from this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father on July 15, 2012Johnny was born to Ernest and Nina Marie Jones on April 14, 1932 in Brownwood TX. Johnny participated in Sea Scouts, YMCA activities, and played football as all the Jones boys did in Breckenridge, TX. He moved to Midland where he married Patsy Johnson and where they raised their three beloved children. Johnny's love for "fixing" things led him to the oil field where he opened and operated an independent business, Johnny Jones Oil Field Equipment Company. Johnny was lovingly known to many as Junky Jones; notorious for his wheeling and dealing.Being a family oriented man he had a special passion for children; all strays dogs and people were always welcome at his table. Johnny was forever long on jokes, tricks, and stories. In doing so he brightened people's day. Johnny, a man with a servant's heart, was always willing to give or help anyone in need. He mentored and offered words of wisdom to many young people. He was a devoted husband and a loving father who adored and protected his family. Up until his death, he still wrestled and played with his great grandchildren in the floor and he was never too busy for any of his family and grandkids. Johnny was also a proud recipient of a liver transplant almost 15 years ago. He committed much time to encouraging others and promoting organ transplants.Johnny is survived by his wife Patsy, daughter Tanya and husband Craig Tinslar, Tami Jones, grandchildren Robert Jones, Jason Jones, Amme Cole, Sarah Faulkenberry, Melissa Johnson, and five great children. Johnny was predeceased his son Terry W. Jones. The family suggests donations be made to Southwest Transplant Alliance, or Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 pm on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home 3800 N. Big Spring Street Midland, Texas. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday July 19, 2012 at Crestview Baptist Church with Dr. John Gerlach officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at: www.npwelch.com,
