John Wade Moody Jr., 82, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in a nursing home in Big Spring, Texas. I worked with John at the Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune and he was a delight to be around. He was funny, witty, smarty pants and kind. I spent as much time talking to him about the many stories he covered as I did ACTUALLY GOING OUT AND COVERING MY OWN STORIES. We laughed lots. John taught me in one year more about journalism than I learned in four years of journalism school. I loved him and I weep at his passing.
