John Stephen Edgar, Jr., 79, of Big Spring, died on Friday, December 4, 2009, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Sharon Wiese, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.He was born on December 2, 1930, in Mathis, Texas to John and Thela Edgar. He married Jeanne Wells on December 31, 1967 in Big Spring, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 13, 1998.John graduated from high school in Odem, Texas and attended Texas A & I Universtiy and Lamar University. He served in the United States Air Force from November 22, 1950 to Novembe 19, 1953. He was a rodeo bronc rider, clown, iron worker, heavy equipment operator, pipe fitter and retail manager. John retired in 1993 and returned to Big Spring with his wife, Jeanne. John had enemies, but was never an enemy. He was a Methodist.Survivors include two daughters & sons-in-law, Stephanie and Jerry Cannon of Big Spring and Toni Jo and Monty Mrotz of St. Croix, Virgin Island; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; three nieces; and a brother-in-law.He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Catherine Frankel and Juanita "Corky" Smith.The family suggests memorials to All Creatures Sanctuary, P.
