Mrs. Rylee, We are very sorry about your loss, we just found out this afternoon. We always enjoyed visiting with Mr. Rylee. John was one of the first neighbors to welcome us to the neighborhood, and I really appreciated him looking after Brenda when I was out of the area with work. We will miss him our thoughts and prayers our with you and your family during this difficult time.

I knew him for years only by his CB handle, casually visiting during trips to Ruidoso, where my kids and I went to vacation and ski almost every weekend. Many times I was by myself traveling on that long, barren highway, but his faceless voice made the trip less tedious. Once my car started sputtering and I signed off, saying I was stopping at the next town just to check if something might be wrong. As I waited in the service station drive I looked up to see a tall stranger headed directly towards me - and immediately I knew who it must be. Sure enough, my CB buddy had stopped to check on me! Even though he went on ahead, he stayed within radio range to make sure I reached Odessa safely. I always felt I somehow had a guardian angel along the highway after that. Those times stopped many years ago when we sold our condo, but I've thought of him many times since then. What a guy! So long, Buckwheat! Happy Trails! from Chicken Little
