John Mastin Johnson, 57, of Royse City, formerly of Sand Springs, died on Sunday, September 23, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.He was born on July 17, 1950, in Kermit, Texas.John grew up in Howard County and attended school in Coahoma. He had served in the United States Army. He was a Baptist and enjoyed writing poetry.Survivors include his son, Matthew Johnson of San Angelo; one brother, David Fisk of Royse City; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Albert Fox of Odessa and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Mildred Johnson.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
