I became aquainted with him as a patron when I worked at the Midland County Public Library, Downtown location. Always a smile and a kind word, a perfect gentleman. Prayers for your family. Esther D Alexander

John was my husband's (Mike Thompson) uncle so he became my Uncle John as well. Whenever Uncle John and Mike had a phone conversation, or the few times I was able to enjoy his company, Uncle John would always ask how my brother was doing. My brother was 53 in 2015 when he was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. He later lived with us for two years. It always meant so much to me that he would ask about my brother, and how I was doing. And I always knew he genuinely cared.

John was one of the kindest human beings I have ever known. It was an honor to have worked with him at Mobil in Midland.

John and Betty were our neighbors we grew to love dearly. John always noticed when I got a new Knick knack or changed things up. He also loved to come see Christmas decorations! Oh and loved tatortot casserole! His heart was genuine. I love you and blessed you know I will see you again!

I met John Marlow when I was just 11 years old. Even as a child, I could sense his presence of love and kindness. My connection to the Marlow family started through my sister, who later married Jeff . Although I wasn't consistently around, I remain close with my nephews Michael and Russell. The way they spoke about Granddad always highlighted his gentle soul. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Marlow family.

John was a true southern gentleman in every sense of the word. A finer man you will never meet. He never met a stranger and everyone admired him from the moment he said "Hi. I'm John Marlow". Over the last 6 years, we grew very close and there are not words to express how much I'll miss him. There is nothing to compare to a "John Marlow hug"! A huge piece of my heart went with him.

Over 34 years ago John asked me to come to Midland to work for him. He had to ask 5 times before he convinced me to make the move from Dallas. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I worked for John and have continued to stay in contact with him throughout the years. He was a very nice, kind, and generous man. He is now reunited with Betty, the love of his life. Miss you John.

I enjoyed playing bridge with John. He was always pleasant, polite, and willing to laugh at my jokes. Please accept my sympathy.
