John H. Kidd Sr., 77 of Midland, died on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, . Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 21, 2003 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with Oscar Bejil, Chaplain of Home Hospice, officiating. Interment will follow at Rankin Cemetery in Rankin, Texas. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2003 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.He was born on July 3, 1925, in Bauxite, Arkansas and married Winnie Ellis Kidd on December 22, 1949 in Rankin, Texas.He was a member of the VFW Post 7208, American Legion Post, the El Paso Retirees Coffee Drinking Club, and was a Mason for 50 years. He served in the United States Army as an engineer from 1943 to 1946. John was also part of the 758 Engineer Col-O-Mar Reunion Group. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas after 28 years of service. John accepted the Lord as his savior in May of 1972. He moved to Midland in 1983 from Midkiff, Texas. He was well read and loved sports and really enjoyed watching his grandchildren play. John also loved to barbeque. Survivors include his wife; Winnie Kidd of Midland, one son and daughter in law; John H. Kidd, Jr. and his wife Donna C. of Odessa, one daughter; Kimberley Ann Cast of Midland, two sisters; Wilma Chambers of Burkburnett, Texas, and Cythia Dunn of Bauxite, Arkansas. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Cody and Kristal Kidd of Midland, Amy and Curtis Hudson of Lubbock, Michael Cast and Casey Cast, both of Midland and his great grandchildren; Jaycee Kidd and Abbey Kidd, both of Midland, Hannah Hudson and Ben Hudson both of Lubbock.Memorials are suggested to the Home Hospice of Midland, 901 W.
