Dearest Sharon, Whitne, Hillary and your family, our heart is deeply saddened at the loss of such a fine and honorable friend and brother in Christ, Judge John Hyde. I was always glad when he was the presiding judge and I was there in court for jury duty. He was always so nice and understanding with all of us. It was also great to see y'all together at church. I feel the same way as Faylene Adams, our mutual friend who I quote from her email: "All the wonderful Christians leaving such holes in our dark world where there used to be so much light." Much love, Genevieve, (Genny, Veva) Gallegos.
(Luke 2:29-32) Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace : according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen : thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared : before the face of all people;
My thoughts and prayers are with you. So sorry for your loss.
I met Judge Hyde while I was a juror a trial he was officiating and I learned to respect him, he showed us how important our job was. My prayers are with the family during this difficult time. May God bless!
Hyde Family, Judge John and I were acquainted, but we had history of Midland in common. I admired him and appreciate the kindness with which he treated me. One thing of common interest was the history of the Butterfield Stage. Another was the Petroleum Museum where he spoke and I am volunteer.. I am sorry to lose John's presence in Midland. Seeing him always lent pleasure to association of everyone with whom he was acquainted and associated. You will always recall John with love. Gerald.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Though we haven't had direct contact in many years my earliest memories of Johnny back at Abilene High were of a "straight arrow" and loyal friend. A court reporter in Midland who grew up in Abilene kept us updated on each other so I knew what a fine man and judge he was. My deepest sympathy to his family. My Deepest Sympathy & my condolence goes out to your family for your lost loved one.
We were saddened to hear of John's passing. Our thoughts are with your family.
Touched so many lives, mine included! And provided an example and encouragement to live fuller better lives while helping others. Sharon & family, celebrate John's life even while you mourn your loss. And praise God for John's life. "Those who live in the Lord never say good-bye for the last time." May Christ wrap His comfort around you.
We consider it a privilege to have known John. His life exemplified Christ's teaching. We look forward to seeing him again in the presence of our Lord. We pray for you as you deal with his loss.
When John and I began our first legal jobs together as Assistant City Attorneys in Midland in 1970, it was clear that he was an exceptional individual with a great future. Time proved that to be true. He was also a fine sportsman as we enjoyed bowling together and playing fast-pitch softball for several years. I will always remember our times together. Rest in Peace Good Friend.
I was very saddened to hear about Judge Hyde's passing. My late husband R. David Rubin Jr did the yard work for Judge Hyde for a couple of years and dearly loved Judge Hyde. My husband passed away in March of 2003 and Judge Hyde and his wife were at the visitation and service for David and that meant a great deal to me. He was a great man and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. God Bless, Karen Rubin
I am very sorry to learn of John Gary's death. My sympathy is sent to Sharon and all the family that he loved so much.
So sadden to learn of Johns' death. He was the " Best Man" for our wedding in 1964. Russell &John were dear friends at Southside Baptist Church activites growing up in Abilene. Their Mothers were good friends also. Connie met him through Russell at HSU. What fun we had.....wonderful memories that we will treasure!
I was so saddened to here of Judge Hyde's passing. He was such a wonderful man and a very dedicated Judge. I know the days to follow are hard, but I KNOW that he is with his Maker and the first words he heard was: "Well Done, my good and faithful servant!" May God surround the family now to bring peace that only He can bring. Karen and Mike Barnes
We were so honored when Judge Hyde spoke at our PALTA luncheon. His presentation was so interesting and informative. The history of Midland was amazing and seeing all of the photographs that he had was mind blowing. I am so sorry that he had Lung Cancer. I really hate that he is not with his loving family, but know he is with God The Father, in Heaven. My father died at 66 years old with Lymphoma. It's so hard to see them deteriorate and dwindle down to nothing. I loved reading the tributes and all of the history of his life and accomplishments. I know it's a great loss to all of us. Thank you for sharing it all with us. God Bless you all.
I have loved my precious cousin, John Gary, since he was a little boy. Johnny, his brother, Billy Mack, and his sister, Darla Ann, and my sister, Patricia, and I had so much fun together when we were little kids visiting our grandparents, Mama and Papa Hyde, at their home in Knox City, Texas. John was so helpful to me over the years when I needed some legal advice. I also want to say that John offered me so much encouragement and help in recent years when I was doing research and gathering information and pictures for my book which was recently published titled "Mama and Papa Hyde's Family in Pictures". I regret that John did not live to see the book. I think he would have enjoyed it so much. I pray that Sharon and the family will be comforted with their faith that John is very much alive in another body, reuniting with his father John and mother Eunice and we will be with him again some day. Thank you, John, for the beautiful example you set in showing us how to live our lives. Much love, Georgia Gleaves
I was privileged to work with Judge John Hyde in writing and producing the documentary short "Midland, Texas: Oasis on the Badlands" in 2007, based on his many historical presentations. He was a first class human being, a man of true character and leadership, and I was saddened to learn of his death. May he rest in peace, and may the Lord bring comfort to his family and friends.
I am saddened to learn of Judge Hyde's passing. I know this must be a hard time for Sharon and his children and grandchildren. Please know that you are in my daily prayers and that he is looking forward to his family joining him with Christ.
I knew John from our church in Abilene. He was a very good friend of my brother, Russell Thomas, and was best man in his wedding. John's mother, Eunice, was a dear friend of my mother also. They were so sweet and full of God's love. I'm saddened by John's death, but rejoicing in the knowledge that there will be a grand reunion in heaven. God bless you all with peace and comfort

My deepest condolences for your loss.
Judge Hyde was a decent and honorable man, as well as a thoughtful and well-respected judge. He brought honor to the judiciary, and we who are left to serve will miss him.
A good man, a good friend, a great loss, we all will miss his wisdom.
Sharon and family, Our prayers are with all of you. We are praying that God's love and comfort will be very real to you during this time of sorrow. May God's strength be your strength in the days ahead. John blessed our lives over the years and we thought it a privilege to know him. Ronnie enjoyed working with John in the 238th court and admired him greatly. John was a fine Christian example to us all.
Sharon and Family: John's life was a distinct tribute to living for Jesus Christ and his values are not rare at all. My prayers for your family as his life is surely to be celebrated and his burdens levied by God's grace. Sharon I know there are many songs that you are singing in your heart even though you do not sing publically that have and are a blessing to you & John's Relationship. We are saddened but also reassured that he is with the "Father" and that He is going to continue to bless you! In Christian Love Gary & Linda Farnum

"The Greatest Man I ever had the Honor of knowing. Rest In Peace my Brother."
Judge Hyde was an exceptional man. It was a privilege for me to get to know him both professionally and personally. He was an outstanding model, not just for young lawyers but all lawyers, as to what it means to be both a consummate professional and a gentleman. I pray for Sharon and the daughters, as it is so hard to lose a vibrant and significant family member. But praise God that John is alive in Christ and there is no better hope and assurance than this.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
