John Franklin Rodgers, 98, of Big Spring, died peacefully at his residence on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Sammy Segundo, pastor of Family Faith Center, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, June 18, at the funeral home.
He was born on June 26, 1925, in Haskell, Texas and married Mary Edna Patterson on February 9, 1944 in Stamford, Texas. Mr. Rodgers had been a resident of Big Spring since 1947 moving from Stamford. He poured and finished concrete for over 60 years. He loved his family and his greatest joy was serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and letting others know of Jesus and His saving grace. He was a member at Grace Fellowship Church of God.
Survivors include his children; son, Carl and Debby Rodgers of Deltona, Florida, and daughters, Edna and David Rawls of Big Spring, Linda Plaster of Granbury, Kay Flowers of Coahoma, Beverly and James Wilkerson of Big Spring, and Becky and Bryan Letz of Big Spring; son-in-law Mike Sizenbach, daughter-in-law Carolyn Rodgers; 22 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 46 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James (Jim) and Bertha Rodgers, two sons, Jimmie Rodgers and Johnnie Rodgers and daughter, Sue Sizenbach, son-in-law Raymond Plaster, daughter-in-law Susie Rodgers, 2 grandsons, David Rawls, Jr. and Jonathan Ray Letz; a great grandson, Brayden Sizenbach; two great-great grandchildren, Lexi Jean, Addy Ann Rawls, and 11 brothers and sisters.
