John Calvin Jones

John Calvin Jones, 84, of Stanton, was called home to Heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 31, 2025, in Midland, Texas. Visitation hours will be from 8am-9pm Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Gilbreath Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery Chapel with Rev. David Harp, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

John was born June 21, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended school in Stanton, graduated from Lubbock’s Monterey High School in 1958 and attended Texas Tech University. John met and married the love of his life, Patsy Manning, on December 23, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas.  They made their home in Stanton and were married over 64 wonderful years. Together they enjoyed taking cruises, traveling and serving with Campers on Mission, and spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John enjoyed farming, welding, and all things rodeo. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Stanton and loved serving others in his role as a deacon.  John loved his Lord, family, and friends; he will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his wife Patsy (Manning) Jones; his children: Jennifer Key (Larry), John C. Jones and Michael Jones (Teresa); his grandchildren: Courtney Pribanic (Aaron), Caitlyn Raikes (James), Chase Key (Torie), Kesley Hudgins (Tyler), Haley Jones, John Kelly Jones (Aleeza); great grandchildren: Piper, Nolan, Uriah, Cooper, Weston, Jedediah, Jude and Adalynn; nieces and nephews Paula Jones, Cody Jones (DeDe), their son Brandon, and Stephanie Asher (Scott).

In addition to his parents, Paul K. and Ina (Allen) Jones, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Paul Allen Jones.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Manor Park for the wonderful care John received during his time there.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to the Martin County Senior Citizens Center, 104 Broadway St., Stanton, TX 79782.
