John Calvin English

John English was born August 8, 1932 in Wink, TX and left this world on March 13, 2024 at the age of 91.  John graduated from Odessa High School and attended Sul Ross University on a track scholarship.  John married Bennie Stephenson in 1951 and they were married for 71 years before Bennie’s passing.

John worked for Anadarko Production company for 39 years.  He ended his career as an Area Supervisor for the Southeastern New Mexico area, along with the West Texas area.  The majority of his career was spent in Southeastern New Mexico.  John dedicated decades to his work leaving a lasting impact on the oil field community.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bennie, daughter Pamala Jo English and son Robert English.  He is survived by his daughter Jan English Bailey and four granddaughters Brooke Hill, Deedra Pace, Heather Michell and Christin Donaldson.  He also leaves 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

A memorial service to honor John’s life will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.  A reception will follow at the Branch at npw.
