Joean Lawson Ridgway, 84, of Lubbock, formerly of Big Spring, died on Saturday, August 30, 2008, in a Lubbock nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Walter McCall, officiating.The family will receive friends from 7 PM to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.She was born on August 9, 1924, in Big Spring, Texas.Joean married Thurman Mitchell "Bud" Lawson, who preceded her in death on November 22, 1969. She then married Paul Ridgway, who preceded her in death on August 4, 2001. Joean lived in Big Spring until 1972 when she moved to Abilene, she then moved to Lubbock in 2004. She was a loving wife and mother and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was a Baptist.Survivors include two daughters & sons-in-law, Micki and Clay Allen of Lubbock and Luan and Jackie Touchstone of Big Spring; one sister, Betty Bain of Big Spring; four grandsons and seven great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.The family suggests memorial donations be made to: Vista Care Hospice of Lubbock, 1717 Norfolk, #A-4th Floor, Lubbock, Texas 9416.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
