Joe R. Boadle, Jr., 79, of Odessa, died on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton with his son-in-law, Rev. Jim Pope, officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 31, 2006 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. He was born on January 11, 1927, in Big Spring, Texas and married Maggie Elizabeth "Beth" Gore on October 15, 1949 in Coahoma, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 29, 1999. Joe was raised in Big Spring and moved to Stanton in 1953. He worked for Colorado River Municipal Water District at the Courtney Pump Station. In 1964 he moved to Big Spring and then to Odessa in 1969. He was a loving husband and father and was a hard working man. He was raised in the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Big Spring. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was stationed in the Phillipines during World War II. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janie and Jim Pope of Grove, Oklahoma, Debra and Steve Meador of Odessa and Murfi Boadle of Odessa; one son, Joe Robert Boadle, III of Houston; 3 grandchildren, Robert Dean Brown, Courtney Colleen Meador Phillips, and Christa Beth Lemoine; 2 great gandchildren, Faith Dawn Becker and Daeton Rae Lemoine; two sisters, Doris Hollandsworth of Big Spring and Betty Boyles of Florida; and one brother, Charles Boadle of Odessa. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson, Cameron Michael Phillips.A special thank you to Home Hospice of Odessa and also to Rev.
