Joe \Old_Horse\ Kerby, 67, of Sand Springs, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 in an Odessa hospital. Funeral services will be held at a later date.He was born July 17, 1946 in Big Spring, Texas and married Jan Kerby August 16, 1978 in Big Spring.He was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and had worked for L. G. Nix Dirt Company for 28 years and Chapman Construction for 15 years. He also owned and operated Kerby Construction.Survivors include wife, Jan Kerby of Big Spring; two sons, Calvin Kerby and wife, Lillian of Big Spring and Bobby Joe Kerby of Pennsylvania; his mother, Teresa Kerby of Sulphur Springs; a step-son, Steven Hollcroft of Lovington, New Mexico; and a brother, Bobbie Lee Kerby and wife, Charlene of Sulphur Springs.He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Kerby; two daughters, Laura and Lisa Kerby; two brothers, Gene and Sam Kerby; a step-son, Michael Hollcroft; and a grandson, Anthony Ryan Kerby.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
