Joe Edward Parker, 67, of Big Spring, died on Monday, October 8, 2001, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Randy Gee, pastor of Crestview Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. He was born on October 2, 1934 in Big Spring, Texas and married Ethylene Baird on September 10, 1955 in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Parker was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and had worked as a service specialist for Energas for 35 years. He coached Little League Baseball and liked to travel, study genealogy and most of all he loved his family. He was a member of Airport Baptist Church, a member of Staked Plains Lodge #598, A.F. & A.M., past member of the Lions Club and member of the Gold Prospecting Association. Survivors include his wife, Ethylene Parker of Big Spring; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Kathy Parker of Tyler and Craig and Melissa Parker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandchildren, Jacob Parker and Kayla Parker both of Tyler; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eva and James Slater of San Angelo; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Bill Hipp of Big Spring and Linda and Bob Clack of Hobbs, New Mexico; his uncle, Odis Wilson of Ft. Worth; a special daughter, Susan Bramlett Rackley of Hurst and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family suggests memorials to: American Lung Association of Texas, P. O.
