JoAnn Miller, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, left this earthly realm Sunday, March 20, 2022, after a long, courageous, and stubborn fight with Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by the presence of God, and love of her family. She was 91.
JoAnn was born January 24, 1931 to Bessie Irue and Thomas Dewey Stanley. She grew up with two brothers, Thomas Edwin and Windle Ray Stanley who preceded her in death. After high school, she became a Parking Enforcement Officer, or as she referred to it, “meter maid” for the San Angelo, Texas Police Department, for thirteen years. She met and married the love of her life, Homer Junior “Jay” Miller, who preceded her in death in 2009. They were married for 42 wonderful, happy, and adventurous years.
JoAnn is survived by two daughters, Judy, and husband Tracy Sprole of Henderson, NV. Jana, and husband Román Soto of Helotes, Texas. Three sons, Michael Royce Ott, who preceded her in death, and his wife, Janice Ott of Stamford, Texas, Harold Ray Ott of Coahoma, Texas, and Randall Van Miller, who preceded her in death.
She deeply loved her grandchildren, Elen Michele Sprole (Patricia), Tina Marie Ott, Crystal Hendricks (Kyle), Harold Ott Jr (Marlena), JoLynne Nicole McCarley (Tony), and Jynsea Linea McGuire (Edward). She had 13 great grandchildren, with one on the way. She dearly loved many extended family members, including numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many dear friends.
JoAnn loved and served Jesus above all else, and she raised her children to love and trust Him as well. She prayed many prayers for her whole family, even in her final days. She visited, and witnessed to numerous people who gave their lives to the Lord. She was a faithful shining light, and the pillar of her family. She was kind and generous to her family, and to anyone who needed help. She will be loved, remembered and greatly missed! Her children rise up and call her blessed!
