Jimmie Burns died on December 2, 2012 in Midland. He was born May 17, 1935 in Boswell, Oklahoma, the youngest of 10 children, to Webb and Cora Burns. He moved to Midland in 1955. He worked as a carpenter and in the construction industry all of his life. On April 24, 1965 he married Nancy Anne Jenkins. They were married, through thick and thin, for 37 years before she passed away on December 8, 2002. Dad was a tough, hard-working man with a quick wit and easy going personality. He didn't sweat the small stuff and he never met a stranger. He taught us to approach life and new things head-on with confidence – \Like smooth slick nothin', baby!\ He was a doting grandfather lovingly named Grumpy by his first granddaughter Ashley. We would like to thank Dr. P K Patel for his many years of care for Dad. We would also like to thank Dr. Rastogi and the staff of Allison Cancer for their care and support as well as Dr. Vogel, the staff at Terrace West and Home Hospice for their recent care and support for Dad and us. Jimmie is survived by 2 sons Jimmy Burns of Arizona, Ricky Burns of Midland; 3 daughters Lori Case (Mike), Sheri Burns (Raul), Kristi Davis (Robert) all of Midland; 8 grand kids Ashley, Sarah (Brandon), Ryan, Amanda (Ian), Kaitlin, Curtis, Jacob, and Brooklin; 3 great grand kids Addyson, Matthew, and Emery; one brother, one sister and many nieces and nephews. It has been a long good-bye and we will miss you dearly! Go rest now. See you and Mom later!,
