My husband in love for 31 years, Jim Thurman, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at 5:41 P.M., at Capulin, New Mexico, after a brief illness. His funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 6, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.Jim was born in Dallas, Texas, but lived the majority of his adult life in the Abilene and Big Spring areas. He worked in the oilfield as a driller for 25 years then worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor at the Big Spring State Hospital until he retired. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Donna Thurman and eight children- James Michael Thurman and his wife, Carleen of Franklin, Tennessee, Donna White of Dewy, Arizona, Barbara Driscoll and husband, Patrick of San Antonio, Richard Thurman of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Netha Rodriquez and husband, Edward of Big Spring, Ina Bryan and husband, Glenn of Tyrone, Oklahoma, Christi Jones and husband, Brant of Grapevine, and Colby Thurman of Three Rivers. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his mother, Ina Whitaker, and one granddaughter, Barbara Jean White.Pallbearers will be Andy Gann, Daniel Rodriquez, Heath Rodriquez, Jason Andrews, Richard Thurman and Robert Danley. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Danley, Jason Rodriquez and Joseph Rodriquez.
