Jim C. Nelson 70, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2014 at the funeral home. Jim was born August 14, 1943 in Big Spring and married Betty Dennis June 3, 1967 in Big Spring. He joined the United States Navy when he was sophomore in high school and served until 1964. He was an oilfield electrician and was part owner of A & N Electric and then Jimco Electric. Jim earned his pilot's license and enjoyed everything about flying and planes. He loved building and running model trains and being with family at the lake. He is survived by his wife, Betty Nelson; two daughters, Debbie Wylie and husband, Jake, and Brandi Holguin and husband, Ruben; grandchildren, Nelson Wylie and Piper Wylie, and Raven Holguin and Autumn Holguin; sister-in-law Carol Raczka and husband, Joe; and niece, Kim Garrett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adison and Ethel (McMurray) Nelson; and one brother, William \Bill\ Nelson.
