God’s newest angel slipped her earthly bounds to join her Heavenly Father on November 26, 2014. Jewell “Judy” Wilson Glennan was 99 years old at the time of her passing. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park at 3:00pm on December 1, 2014.Judy was born on June 26, 1915 in Berea, Kentucky of Madison County to James and Dora Fields Wilson. On April 1, 1944, Judy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Private First Class. During her time with the marines, she met the love of her life, John “Lefty” H. Glennan, Sr., who was a fellow marine. She was honorably discharged from the Aviation-Women’s Reserve Squadron 4, MCAD Miramar in San Diego, California on March 14, 1946. Just twelve days later, on March 26, 1946, Judy and John were married. Shortly after, in 1947, the couple moved to Midland and had two children, John Jr. and Mary Ann. Judy was active in Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Little League Baseball. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, William, John, Ashley, and Adryan, and her great-grandchildren, Ethan, Matthew, Michael, Riley, and Preston. She loved all of them more than life itself. Judy was an incredibly loving wife, mother, and MeMaw to her grand and great-grandchildren. John Sr. and Judy were longtime members of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church of Midland and the light of God was always visible through each of them. They were true soul mates in their total 68 years of marriage. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.She is survived by her faithful and loving husband, John “Lefty” H. Glennan, Sr. of Midland, Texas; daughter, Mary Ann Hardy and husband, James, of Lubbock, Texas; son, John H. Glennan, Jr. of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, William P. Hardy and wife, Christi, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Major John Hardy, MD and wife, Nancy of San Antonio, Texas, and Ashley D. Boren and husband, Chris, of Midland, Texas, Adryan D. Glennan and Chris Weller of Houston, Texas; great grandchildren, Ethan and Matthew Hardy, Michael, Riley and Preston Boren; brothers, Jack Wilson and Herschel Wilson of Greenburg, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.Judy is preceded in death by her parents, James and Dora Wilson, four sisters, and four brothers.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manor Park, Inc., www.manorparkinc.org, or to a charity of choice.
