Jessie Faye Calhoun, 68, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, October 7, 2001, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. She was born on January 22, 1933 in Comanche, Oklahoma and married Howard Calhoun on December 6, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2000. Mrs. Calhoun was raised in Comanche, Oklahoma and attended school there. She and her late husband came to Big Spring in 1952 after marrying. She was a homemaker, a wonderful Mother and Grandmother and loved to cook. She was a Baptist. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy Calhoun and Lori and Tony Kennedy and children, Mallory and Gunnar, all of Big Spring; one son, Stephen Calhoun of Big Spring and his children, Mandy Calhoun of Ft. Worth, Deric Calhoun of Big Spring and Dillan Calhoun of Midland; three brothers, Ray Williams of Duncan, Oklahoma, Louis Williams of Princeton, Texas and Bob Williams of Lawton, Oklahoma and five sisters, Margie Cox of Duncan, Oklahoma, Anna Bell Switzer of Comanche, Oklahoma, Polly Salmon of Lawton, Oklahoma, Dolores Krug of Berden, Kansas and Allie Cox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was also preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. The family suggests memorials to: Community Care Hospice, 1510 S. Gregg, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or Allison Cancer Center, 301 North N Street, Midland, Texas 79701. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
