Jessica Erin Roman, 41, of Big Spring, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Pastor Scott Kirkland, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Jessica was born September 12, 1980 in Ft. Scott, Kansas to Ronda Rae (Blevins) and John Bradley Hastings. She grew up in New Zealand as a missionary child, until she was 17 years old. She attended Wellington Girls College and graduated as Salutatorian at Arlington Baptist College in 2002. She married Gregg Roman August 5, 2000. Jessica was very artistic and had the ability to transform all things old into new and beautiful creations. She loved all animals, was very dependable, hard working with a good memory. Jessica had a smile that would light up the room and always put others needs before hers. She was a Procurement Analyst at the VA Medical Center. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Jessica is survived by her husband Gregg of Big Spring; two daughters: Lyssa and Aaralyn Roman; her parents: Brad and Ronda Hastings of Grants, New Mexico; two sisters: Jill Botticelli and Jodell Powers, both of Ft. Worth, two nieces: Talia Barker of Mansfield and Eavie Powers of Ft. Worth; her mom and dad: David and Sherry Roman, her brother-in-law: Blaine Roman, all of Big Spring and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a brother-in-law Vinnie Botticelli.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Missions Program, 1701 E. FM 700, Big Spring, TX 79720.

Mrs. Jessica Roman's last comment to me was to laugh at something stupid I'd said- a habit which was common over the time I worked with her. She brought an immediate sense of joy, humor and genuine team spiritedness (and would have corrected me on using such a flagrantly non-existing word!) My heart and prayers go out to her family, fellow believers in Christ. While she went home before us, we are still here in this hard, fallen place. Nothing replaces a wife and a mom. We will see her again thanks to Jesus, but until then, my family and I are praying for you all. We miss her, but you miss her most. May God comfort you all in this time of pain and loss.

David and I had no real family here in NZ growing up as MK’s so we loved it when we got the chance to come visit y’all and have someone to fill the space of Aunt, Uncle and cousins. I had the honor and the privilege of working with Jessica for some three or four years. I worked in Amarillo and she was in big Spring. We both shared a common work ethic. Jessica always showed me how professional, intelligent, and hard-working she was. However I also had the privilege of learning about her family. Nothing was more precious to her and her girls and Gregg her husband. I share with all of you the sense of grief and loss that only God can heal. Jessica is in paradise right now waiting for us and clearing the path. My life was made much more complete and fulfilling by knowing her and working with her. God bless her friends and family.
