Jesse Louis Overton, 86, of Big Spring, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 14, 2021. Jesse passed peacefully surrounded by his three children. He was born on May 14, 1935 in Big Spring, Texas to Jesse W. and Lucille Overton where he spent his childhood on the family ranch.
Jesse married Mary Lou McElrath on June 2, 1953 in Forsan, Texas. He then enlisted in the Army and served his country for two years in Karlsruhe, Germany. After his time in the service, Jesse and Mary Lou raised a family of one boy and two girls. Jesse loved spending time around family and friends telling stories that made everyone laugh. Jesse spent his life working on the family ranch, his love for the ranch was passed on to him from his dad and will be passed on for many generations. He was also employed by Glasscock County where he maintained roads in the northern part of the county for 25 years. Many lifelong friendships were made during his time with the county.
