Jesse Edward “Sonny” Henson, 88, of Stanton, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022. Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Evergreen Cemetery chapel in Stanton. He will lie in state Friday from 8:30 am until 9:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring.

He was born March 28, 1933 in Stanton. He married Janice Heffington and she preceded him in death February 25, 2002. He then married Teri Palmese.
Sonny was a lifelong resident of Stanton and attended Stanton schools. He worked as a truck driver before working as a lineman for Cap Rock Electric, retiring as an operations manager. He loved barbequing and camping at the river with his family. His grandkids all called him Granddaddy.
Survivors include his wife, Teri Henson of Stanton; a daughter, Valerie Zarate and husband, Leon, of Stanton; five grandchildren: Ginger Crawford and husband, John of Los Angeles CA; Ashley Harris and husband, T. J., of Del Rio; Marisha Hodges and husband, Michael, of Buda; Kayla Franks of Snyder and Daisha Morrison, of Stanton; 14 great-grandchildren: Trust, Prophet, Faith, Alexander, Alethea, Laison, Shailyn, Paityn, Caitlyn, Sydnee, Samuel, Pade, Cortlen and Case and three brothers, Bobby Henson and wife, Carol, of Cleburne; Earl Henson of Alaska and Jimmy Shaw and wife Linda, of Midland and a daughter-in-law Tressa Henson of Stanton.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Jessie Lee Henson; his son Wesley Henson, 1 granddaughter and 1 great granddaughter.
