Jerry Lee Pinkston, 67, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans Memorial, 9915 Wright Dr., Midland, TX 79706. (Bring a chair if you would like to sit.)Jerry was born on October 7, 1948 to Izella and Carroll Pinkston in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Monahans High School and attended one year of college at Odessa College. He was drafted into the Marine Corps April 3, 1969 and served one year in Viet Nam and reached the rank of E-5, Sgt. within 18 months. Jerry always said that although his time in the Marine Corps was at a difficult time, he wouldn’t take anything for the experience. He was a VERY PROUD MARINE. He was a volunteer with Permian Basin Honor Flight and said it was his privilege to serve the other vets. Jerry never met a stranger and he loved to travel.
