Jerry L. Turney, 71, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, May 24, 2012, in a local hospital. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the funeral home.He was born on January 15, 1941 in Lamesa, Texas and married Euna Vallene Wilkerson in July 1959. They had two sons, Jeffery and Jay. He later married Winnie E. Dippel June 3, 1981.Jerry graduated from Levelland High School in 1959 and started working at an automobile dealership after high school. He had worked in automotive maintenance in Levelland and then in Big Spring. Jerry worked for Coca Cola Bottling Co., Cabot for 13 years, for Dorchester Gas in Sterling City for several years and retired from Sid Richardson Carbon Company after 20 years. He was a member of the Big Spring Regional Antique Automobile Club. He was a Baptist.Survivors include his wife, Winnie Turney of Big Spring; two sons, Jeffery L. Turney and wife, Phyllis of Midland and Jay Turney and wife, Amy of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. L. "Jack" and Lucille Turney. The family suggests memorials be made to the Big Spring Humane Society, P.O. Box 823, Big Spring, Texas 79721-0823, the American Heart Association, P. O. Jeff' Jay @ families, I am sorrry to hear of the death of Jerry T. God be with all who love & miss him.

The members of Adult 3 Sunday School Class at College Baptist Church want to convey our sympathy in the loss of you loved one. Please be assured of our prayers for each of you in this time.

Condolences to Winnie and the family. Although we worked in different areas, I always enjoyed it when Jerry and I would see and "kid" with each other. Such a good sport! I know that the Thursday morning coffee bunch will miss him.

we had such good times we had so many vacations together , bet and Johnnie are up there laughing and reliving and missing all of us . LOVE YOU ALL GOD IS WITH YOU AUNT LAVADA

Jerry was my friend/brother-in-law/brother all rolled up in one. He was a part of the family. I will miss him deeply. GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU.

I have such wonderful childhood memories of Jerry and I playing together at our Grandmother's house in Big Springs on the hill. What wonderful times we had. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this sad time. I will always remember the fun we had growing up.

Jerry and I spent many hours back in the 50's riding around in his old '54 Plymouth and have had many occasions in the last few years to renew that old friendship. Jerry never changed a bit and I will miss him forever.

Jerry was a great friend.and co worker,He will be missed @ the Thursday morning Sid Richardson coffee. Jerry, rest in peace.
