Hi Heidi and Family. Jerry was my first junior companion in the Nagoya Mission. He was energetic and quick to learn, full of love to all. I was very impressed with his conversion story and remember him chiding me when I told a story about how hard it was to do my home teaching before my mission. He stressed vigorously how important it was to reach out to people even if they weren't interested in being home taught. I think this had something to do with his friend's invitation for him to come to conference where he started learning about the gospel. I next met Jerry when my wife and I, living in San Angelo in 1978, were asked to be chaperones at a stake young adult activity. What a pleasant surprise to meet Jerry there and hear about the rest of his mission and his return to Texas. The last I worked with Jerry was when he organized the Nagoya Mission reunion with President Tanaka. Jerry made this event happen, and his wonderful organizational skills made even those of us who couldn't make it to the event feel included in the planning and execution of the exciting reunion (I believe I was in Korea at the time). I am blessed to have known Jerry, and hope that you all are looking forward to the resurrection and eternal reunion promised to us as we follow Jesus Christ.

Hi Heidi and family: Don and I just got back a few days ago and heard of Jerry's passing on to be with his Lord and Savior. We were so shocked to hear of his struggle with cancer. Jerry always seemed in such great health. Please know that we will keep you and your family in prayer. We pray that the sweet peace of God will abide with you and yours.I will never forget his sweet spirit toward me when Don and I lost our precious Sheryl. I believe you all had just got back from a vacation abroad when he came into work and heard of our tragedy. Jerry was a very upright and wonderful boss to me at Cotton Bledsoe. It was wonderful working for someone so in love with his savior Jesus. Dedicated in every way to help all those that came through that needed a lawyer in their times of grief. God bless you always. Don and I are here if you need someone to talk to that truly understands your overwhelming grief.Sincerely, Annette and Don Moellering

I feel very sad knowing Jerry died. He was part of the group of lawyers who first trained me. He expected great things from me, and he had plenty of opportunities to be disappointed, but that wasn't the kind of person he was. He always gave me a chance to improve myself and to do things the right way. Also, he gave me some very important advice. He told me to pray with my children. And, I do. They know the Lord's prayer now just as little kids. Thank you Jerry, and I'm sorry I didn't let you know how much you meant to me.

Thoughts and prayers of Brother Zant and his family today- what an amazing man! Wish I could be there and give everyone hugs, and thank them for letting him serve the youth as he did. He was and will always be a pure example of how to serve whole heartedly! He made everyone he met feel special, important, and loved. As Heidi does too! So much love and memories of this family, I hope you feel all the love and support you need, as you all have given to others so much, may they give back to you. So grateful to know the Zant family, and so happy your family is eternal!
