Jeremy Andrew Butts

Jeremy Andrew Butts of Midland Texas passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2023 at the age of 43.

Jeremy was born on June 10, 1980 in Victoria Texas to David and Roy Lesa Butts. He moved to Midland in 1982 and attended Midland schools. He graduated from Midland Christian School in 1998. He then attended Angelo State University in San Angelo Texas.

He married Jennifer Sturgill on December 15, 2001 in San Angelo Texas. They moved to Midland in 2008 where he began his successful career in the oilfield. He worked for several companies including Halliburton, Dynamic Drilling Fluids, DBM Drilling Fluids, Geo Drilling Fluids and Panther Drilling Fluids. He was highly admired for his knowledge in the drilling fluids field.

Through the years he welcomed five sons that admired and loved him. They considered him the king of dad jokes. He spent many years coaching little league, football and basketball in the Greenwood community.

Jeremy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of nine and was a member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church where he spent many years teaching in the 4-5 year old Sunday School.

Jeremy was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother and friend.

Jeremy is survived by his wife, Jennifer Butts of Midland Texas, his 5 sons Riley, Landon, Kayden, Hudson and Sutton Butts, his parents David and Roy Lesa Butts of Midland Texas, his brother Joe David Butts and wife Tiffany of Midland, mother in law and father in law Lana and David Tinney of San Angelo, brother in laws and sister in laws Jeff and Christy Pulley of Midland Texas, Casey and Jessica Snelson and Bryan and Heather Letts of San Angelo Texas as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents Gene Butts and Helen Butts Stasey of San Angelo and Alfred and Clara Cooper of Sonora Texas as well as three angel babies.

Pall Bearers will be Daniel Duckworth, Kevin Baggett, Kyle King, Shawn Havner, Michael Otho and Gordon Gutierrez.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday December 6, 2023 at the Branch at Nalley Pickle Welch. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday December 7, 2023 at Kelview Heights Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
