We are sad to announce the passing of Jeannine Charlene Johnson of Big Spring, Tx. She passed away at age 83 on May 9, 2024, at UMC Lubbock where she was surrounded by all of her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Growing up she was no stranger to hard work. She lived in Vealmore with her parents where she helped manage their farm. In high school she was a proud member of the majorette squad.
She studied at Sul Ross University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education and went on to teach elementary school for several years at El Paso, Lamesa, and Sands. She gained much respect and love from all of her students. While teaching, she met her late husband and gave birth to their daughter, Michelle Denise Johnson. After retiring, she spent her time painting, as she was a very talented artist, was a part of a bowling league, and later in life loved watching the Cowboys every Sunday, and spending time with her loved ones. She was a woman of simple things and could always put a smile on anyone’s face with her charismatic attitude and sense of humor. She loved country music and could truly “cut a rug”. She was a Christian woman that always did the right thing.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Rheba and J.P. Cauble, her husband, Bobby Johnson, and her daughter, Michelle Johnson.
She leaves behind her 3 grandchildren, Britney, Steven, and Shelbie. And her great grandchildren, Abigail and Aaron Friddle, Draven and Halen Johnson, and Jaxen, Everly, Camryn, and Carter Higgs.
