Jeanette High Van Auken, 87, of Midland passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at her residence in Midland. Family will receive friends at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory, 3800 North Big Spring Street, in Midland on Monday, June 25, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.She was born on December 13, 1919 in Nauvoo, Missouri to Alfred High and Sarah Garrison High. She graduated from Cortez, Colorado High School in 1939. She married John Albert Van Auken on March 21, 1947 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They had lived in Wyoming, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. They moved to Midland in 1967 from Houston. She had worked for HNG Oil Company in Midland for 10 years as a production clerk. She was very active and served as past president of the Pyracantha Garden Club in Midland. She served as a past state officer for the Texas State Garden Clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 brothers.She is survived by her husband: John A. Van Auken of Midland; daughter: Janice Adams and husband Jeffrey of Leander; sister: Pauline Goldsworthy of Cortez, Colorado ; brother: Arlis High and wife Betty of Cortez, Colorado; and 3 grandchildren: Christopher Magers and wife, Nikki of Virginia, Stephanie Magers of Austin, and Christina Adams of Leander.Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, Texas 79702.,
