Jeanette "MamaNet" Brooks, 75, of Coahoma, died on Thursday, October 27, 2005, in the Hospice of Midland Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday, October 29, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Monroe Teeters, pastor of Salem Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM Saturday at the Talpa Cemetery, Coleman County, Texas.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.She was born on February 20, 1930, in Coleman County, Texas and married George Brooks.Mrs. Brooks taught school for 47 years. She taught 27 years in Coahoma, retiring in 1999. Jeanette loved her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, and cooking for family and friends. She loved teaching and her students. She was a Baptist. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Cindy Brooks of Midland; a daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Loy Hahn of Coahoma; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nita Mathis of Lamesa, Pat and Roger Hudgins of Forsan and Hiawitha and Baker Hallford of Midland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Beth Sikes of Lubbock and Ronnie and Sandy Sikes of Houston; three grandsons, Jeff Brooks of Unionville, Connecticut, Kris Harding of San Antonio, and Kirk Hahn of Coahoma; three granddaughters, Rebecca Bevier and husband, Wes of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, Sheena Harding of Coahoma and Claire Brooks of Unionville, Connecticut; one great granddaughter, Natalie Bevier of Rocky Hill, Connecticut and many nieces, nephews and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
