"Aunt Jean" was the greatest great aunt ever! She was there for my mama, Sue Nell and her sister, Norma Faye, when they needed her. For her contribution to these two women's raising, I will never be able to thank her enough! I write in behalf of my mama, Sue Nell and her sister Norma Faye. My aunt Norma Faye has a form of dementia that makes her non verbal at this point. My mama, Sue Nell has Parkinson's herself and the tremors make even texting difficult. They loved their aunt dearly and have many fond memories of her growing up that I have heard. I too have fond memories of Aunt Jean and her boys. I remember riding a three wheeler with Tim in wild sandy west Texas. I remember riding in the back of a pickup on their land when a flock of wild turkeys flew over the back of the truck. It scared me because they were so big I thought they were going to fall out if the sky on us. Aunt Jean was always feeding someone, she was a wonderful cook and the first person to make wild venison taste good to me. Jean was grit, muscle and determination, as well as kind, caring, and understanding! She was the quintessential Texas woman with a backbone of steel and a heart of butter. Her spirit and tenacity will be forever missed by her nieces, great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by her niece Mary Francis.
