Jared Anthony Jones, 35, of Big Lake, Texas went to be with our Lord on July 12, 2023. A memorial service will be held July 22nd, at 10:30AM at First Baptist Church at 510 E 7th St, Big Lake, Texas.
Jared was born on October 28, 1987 to Charles (Chuck) and Julie Jones in San Angelo, Texas. He grew up in Big Lake graduating from RCISD in 2006.
Jared was an extremely hard worker and found great satisfaction in doing a job well done. Jared was curious, eager to learn, and picked things up quickly—making him, a valuable asset in his industry. Throughout the past years he had been employed at Trisun, Spectrum Energy Services, and most recently Plains Pipeline.
Jared loved all things outdoors and country. He loved to hunt and was always up for a hunting trip to his grandpa’s land at Menard, especially if other family was going to be there. He was known for not only his love of hunting, but also the meticulousness of the sport. Jared discovered a natural talent for woodworking while taking woodshop in high school and loved to make special items for those close to him. Jared was an animal lover and especially loved all his dogs.
Jared never met a stranger and treated everyone like a best friend, even if they had just met. His friends and family will miss his long phone calls, surprise visits, and thoughtful gestures like Wagyu Christmas steaks. Family was extremely important to Jared and he is known as the glue of his extended family and every member was blessed to have their own special relationship and connection with him.
Jared is survived by his parents, Chuck, and Julie Jones of Big Lake; his brother and best friend, Brandon T. Jones of Big Lake; and half-sister, Charlin Jones-Chavez of El Paso. Jared is also survived by his grandfather, Donald White (Jared was grandpa’s little shadow) of Big Lake, Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jared is preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond (Papaw) and Mary (Granny) Jones; and his grandmother, Wanda White (only one he allowed to give him neck sugars when he was a baby).
Honorary Pallbearers are his cousins, Destiny Rohmfeld, Josh White, Hilary Wheeler, Katy White, Colter Morgan, and Jessi Rose Morgan.
Our family was not expecting for Jared’s life to be cut short so soon. We are all devastated by this huge loss and his heart of gold will be missed forever. Our family extends our deepest gratitude to all who have offered us support during this difficult time.
