Following graduation from Robert E. Lee High School in 1974, Janna received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from West Texas State University and her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Angelo State University. Janna worked for the Midland County Attorney’s Office and for the State of Texas, retiring from Adult Protective Services as a supervisor in 2006.She is survived by her mother, Clara Thompson; brother, Robert Thompson and wife, Star; sister, SueEllen Stalder and husband, Dean; nephews, Connor and Holt Thompson, Mackey and Tyler McCommon, Andrew Stalder and wife, Bettye; and Brant Stalder; and one niece, Hope Stalder. She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Thompson and brother-in-law, Robert McCommon, Jr.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to the Midland Humane Coalition P.O. Box 53213, Midland, TX. 79710-3213.Janna loved life. She was the life of every party she attended and her smile and laugh will be missed by so many. Janna was “Big Sis” to her brother and sister and “Aunt Sis” to all of her nephews and niece, making sure they had special gifts and surprises for every occasion. She loved to bring them baskets of goodies and elaborately decorated cookies for holidays. Janna was tough on the outside but one of the kindest individuals one could ever have the pleasure of knowing on the inside.Janna knew Jesus and believed that she would one day be rejoined with family and friends in Heaven. That reunion came much sooner than she would have chosen but Janna was raised to know that the Lord was ultimately in control of her life. She will be greatly missed as she was certainly one of a kind. But there’s no doubt she is in Heaven celebrating with a glass of Chardonnay right now- with ice of course.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
