Janie Sue Bruton passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015. Viewing will be on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 8:00AM-9:00PM and Friday, April 10, 2015 from 8:00AM-9:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00PM at Robert Lee Cemetery in Robert Lee, Texas with Portis Ribble officiating. Janie was born in Robert Lee, Texas, on December 5, 1931 to Elbert and Ellen Higgins. She was the youngest of eight children. She grew up in Robert Lee, TX and graduated from Robert Lee High School. She married the love of her life John L. Bruton in 1954 while he was serving in the Navy. They moved to Midland in 1960 where John owned and operated Scotsdale Barbershop. She always looked forward to attending the Navy Reunions with her husband, John L. and attending her Robert Lee High School reunions. She was a homemaker and worked very hard making sure that their home was a happy place. She loved spending time with her family.She is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Bruton, parents, Elbert and Ellen Higgins, four brothers, three sisters, and two nieces.She is survived by, two daughters Paula Belt and husband Greg, Patti Parson and husband Farris, two granddaughters Ellen Funderburg and husband Josh, Emily Belt, and one grandson Jarrett Parson, two great-granddaughters Katherine and Lily Funderburg, and many special nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Northside Church of Christ, Box 508, Robert Lee, TX, 76945Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
