Janice Smith Bullock, 60 of Midland, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017. Memorial Services will be at 3:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel on Friday, October 20, 2017 with Rev. Dan Love officiating.Janice was born on October 5, 1957 in Houston, Texas to Al and “Bunny” Smith. She attended school and graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston. After attending Texas Tech University, Janice and Gary Bullock were married on February 16, 1980. Together, they had three wonderful children who were the joy of her life. The family moved to Midland in 1992 where Janice graduated with a Master’s in Education from the University of Texas Permian Basin to fulfill her lifelong dream of working in education. While with Midland Independent School District, Janice was humbled and honored to receive the MISD Teacher of the Year along with Texas Region 18 Teacher of the Year awards. Upon retiring from education, her favorite pastime was reading and relaxing with family and friends at Lake LBJ. Spending time at the lake always brought many wonderful memories back when she spent time at the lake with her family as a young girl.Janice is survived by her husband, Gary Bullock; daughter, Laura Caldwell and husband Tanner; daughter, Melissa Campion and husband Sean; and son, Austin Bullock and fiancé Morgan Johnson. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Allison and Avery Caldwell and Lizzy Campion, all of who were her pride and joy. Additional family surviving Janice include her sister, Patty Horridge and husband Mike; brother, Glenn Smith and wife Margie Becker; brother, Rick Smith and wife Susan; and sister-in-law, Ellen Smith along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Janice was very loved and will be greatly missed.Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Mack Smith.The family would like to express great gratitude to the many care givers and friends that helped make the last few months of her life comfortable.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Midland, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
