Janice Mitchell Jackson, 74 of Midland Texas, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Janice was born on June 23, 1951 in Cisco, Texas to Bud Mitchell and Rita Newcomb. Janice grew up in Albany, Texas. She and her family moved to Midland, Texas and she graduated from Lee High School in 1969.
Janice had three beautiful daughters whom she dedicated her entire life to.
Janice was known to be quite sassy and witty. She had a sharp sense of humor but was also known for her unwavering kindness and generous spirit. She was willing to help anyone in need without giving it a second thought. She enjoyed hanging out and playing cards with friends and looked forward to yearly camping trips at the river with friends and family. Her favorite thing was hanging out with her grandkids. Janice was known by most as “Monga” which was a name given to her by her first grandson.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Bud & Ann Mitchell and Kenneth & Rita Newcomb; and brother Gary Mitchell.
Janice is survived by daughters, Jennifer (Keith) Bidlack of Pearland, Texas, Holly (Joseph) Urias of Midland, Texas and Heather (Jimmy) Holcomb of Midland, Texas. Grandchildren: Jayden, Kymber, Chance, Kynzee, Brynlee, Zac and Marissa. Great-Grandchildren: Aston, Aiden, Corby and Murphee; Brothers Skeet (Georgia) Mitchell of Granbury, Texas and Scott Mitchell of Brownwood, Texas.
Nephews Sterling and Dawson and nieces Shelby and Carly.
Janice was blessed to have some of the best life-long friends. Gayle Mitchell, Kay Martin, Renea Pitchford, Staci Taylor, Martha Bradley and Judy Makowsky.
Visitation will be held on May 28, 2026 from 6pm-8pm at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home located at 3800 North Big Spring St., Midland, TX 79705.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 27, 2026 at 5:00 pm at Brokenhorn Productions, 4607 South State Highway 349, Midland, TX 79706. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their favorite memories of Janice.
