Surrounded by her loved ones, Janelle Dozier, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 22, 2013. Janelle was born February 20, 1934, in Abilene, TX to Annie Pearl (Goza) and Andrew Sharp. She was raised in Baird, TX, and after graduation, she attended Draughons Business School in Abilene. In 1965, she moved to Midland with her two daughters, Susan and Sonya.Janelle worked for the Midland Independent School District for 34 years. The last 16 years of her career she was the Athletic Directors Secretary. This was the perfect job for Janelle because she loved the Midland High Bulldogs. She attended every football, baseball and basketball game possible. Janelle would talk about the game for days when they won, but the conversation was short when they lost, well, they had some pretty bad calls.She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she served in many ways. Janelle loved her church family, and the fellowship they shared were some of her favorite times.Survivors include one daughter, Sonya Hopkins and husband Darrell of Midland, TX; 5 grandchildren, James Davis (Christina) of Weatherford, TX, Angelique Davis-Ramirez (Mike), Nick Davis, Michelle Hopkins, and Michael Hopkins, all of Midland, TX; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Davis and son-in-law, Jimmy Davis, her parents, 2 sisters, one being an identical twin, and 3 brothers.The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 25, 2013 in the Chapel at First Baptist Church in Midland.
