Jane Thomas, 64 of Midland, died on Friday, February 28, 2003, at Midland Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Community Bible Church Midland with Pastor A.D. Kyle, officiating. She was born on May 22, 1938, in Big Spring, Texas and married Glenn Doug Thomas on August 27, 1979 in Midland, Texas. Jane was a graduate of Big Spring High School and attended the University of Texas. She has lived in Midland for 33 years and was one of the founders of the Community Bible Church. Mrs. Thomas played the piano for the church and taught children's bible study and in her youth, was an avid vollyball player. Jane loved to play golf with her husband and friends, and won a number of tournaments. She was also a founding member of Midland Bible Church. She was a very loving and loved daughter, wife, mother, and friend.Survivors include her husband; Doug Thomas of Midland, Texas, five daughters; Jennifer Sweitzer of Austin, Texas, Karen Esterly of Midland, Texas, Elaine Lavington of Rollingburg, Oregon, Laura Newsome of Big Spring, Texas, Terry Thomas of Los Angeles, California, one brother; Billy Bob Watson of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren; Casey Nunley, Kelli Nunley, Seth Sweitzer, Samantha Sweitzer, Chuck Lavington, and Kristen Lavington, Zach Esterly, and Rochelle Esterly.
