James “Bob” Robert Lawrence, Jr., 86, of Skellytown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 in Midland, Texas. He was born on November 23, 1929 in Pooleville, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He married the love of his life, Wilma “Lucille” Lawrence on August 14, 1954 in Healdton, Oklahoma. In 1958, Bob and Lucille moved to Skellytown, Texas. He was a loving father to his five children, James Robert III, Michael Ivan, William David, Judith Ann, and Ila Patricia. Bob was the Mayor and a Councilman in Skellytown, but also worked as an accomplished contractor. At the time of his retirement, he was employed by Chevron. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Borger, Texas.He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille Lawrence, daughter, Judith Ann Minatrea, and sister, Flonel Bernice Mason.He is survived by his three sons, James Robert Lawrence III and wife, Kara, of Midland, Texas, Michael Ivan Lawrence and wife, Kelly, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and William David Lawrence of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Ila Patricia Lawrence of San Francisco, California; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mamie Bess Jones and Kate Rogene Staggs and husband, R.C., all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 3:00pm at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton, Oklahoma.
