James Richard Conley \Dick\, 58, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. A memorial service will be Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Big Spring officiated by Rev. Craig Holstedt and Rev. Dana Mayfield. Visitation with the family will be Friday, April 12, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch from 7:00-8:30 pm. Dick was born October 15, 1954, inAmarilloTexas. He graduated from Big Spring High School in 1973 where he was in All-state choir and played on the football team. He went on to obtain a bachelors degree in finance in 1977 from East Texas State University, which is now known as Texas A&M at Commerce.After graduating from college, Dick was an assistant national bank examiner inWichitaFalls, Texas. He then served as Vice President of First National Bank in Olney, Texas and First National Bank in Alpine, Texas. In 1988 he returned to Big Spring to work for Saunders Company. For the past four years, Dick was the branch manager at Morrison Supply Company. On July 1, 1978 Dick married Janie Wooten in Hobbs, New Mexico. Together they have two sons, William Conley of Richmond, Texas and Kyle Conley of Houston, Texas. Dick was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Big Spring where he served as an Elder and a chair of the Facilities Committee. He loved his church and served faithfully in many ways. Dick also loved to cook andbarbecue. He enjoyed watching sports and loved the Texas Rangers. He adored his dog, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Irene Willis and Nelle Conley, his parents, Betty and J.D. Conley, and his sister, Kathy Conley Wilson.He is survived by his wife, Janie; sons, William and Kyle; brother, Dr. Mike Conley of Bozeman, Montana; sister, Judy Conley of El Paso, Texas; niece, JoAnna Conley of Eastland, Texas; niece, Dr. Emily Conley of Austin, Texas; nephew, Leif Foged of Chicago, Illinois; nephews, Jacob and Joshua Buckley of Kokomo, Indiana; cousins, Jo Pat Wellman of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jill Hadley of Sunset, Texas; and his precious dog, Georgia.
