James Paul Robertson, 66, of Midland, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Midland Memorial Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Crestview Baptist Church with Dr. John Gerlach officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Friday, October 17, from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.James was born on November 23, 1941 in Midland Texas to Leo and Marie Mann Robertson. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Arlington. On January 20, 1986 James became Assistant Public Works Director with the City of Midland. In October 1987 he transferred to the Engineering and Transportation Department as Assistant Engineering Director. James became City Engineer in March 1988. He had a great sense of humor, loved playing with his grandchildren, playing his guitar, vacationing at Fun Valley and annual trips to the Frio River. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed all the fellowship and adventures with his Sunday School Class. He will be missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his wife Gloria; two sons, Brad Robertson and wife Lisa of Midland, and Mike Robertson and wife Kelly of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Cindy Robertson of Kingwood, TX; two grandchildren, Audrey Oetting and Drew Robertson of Midland; one brother, Danny Robertson and wife Donna of Midland; nieces, Danna Robertson and Karrie Robertson of Midland; and nephew, Curtis Robertson of Midland. He is also survived by mother-in-law, Valera Bippen of Midland; sister-in-law Terry Tucker and husband Gary of Greenwood; nieces, Tuesday Richmond of Brownwood, TX, Celeste Dickinson, and Kourtney Tucker of Greenwood; brother-in-law, Stanley Bippen and wife Jody of Midland; nephew Bryan Bippen of Midland; aunt Marlene Emerson and husband Carl of Brownwood, and many dear friends and relatives.He was preceded in death by his parents.Pallbearers will be Danny Robertson, Stanley Bippen, Gary Tucker, Jerry Pearce, Leon Blaschke and Jerry Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be T.R. Bridges, Morris Cole, Gary Saunders, Bryan Bippen, Curtis Robertson and Van Harris.,
