James Haas, 88 of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
James was born on March 31, 1938 in Mandan, North Dakota to Ephiam Haas and Mary Schwartzbauer. The family will be holding private services.
James was a happy and friendly man who apologized easily. He loved the Lord with all his heart.
He loved watching basketball games and western movies. John Wayne was his hero.
He spent many years working in Las Vegas before retiring with his wife in Big Spring, Texas.
James is survived by his beloved spouse Cristina Haas; brother Kenny Haas; half sister Mary Kay Erickson; half brother Lealand Haas and many nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Gerry Edwards and her husband Terry.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff at Parkview Skilled Care, Lamun-Lusk Sanchez Texas State Veteran’s Home, and Shannon Medical Center for their devoted care to his well being.
